The GBG Warm Packs

Helpers

As winter approached, the country was facing a Cost of Living Crisis. Many vulnerable people were struggling to make ends meet and keep themselves warm. In response, Goals Beyond Grass came up with an idea to help those in need. They decided to distribute warm packs to vulnerable individuals and families throughout the community, thanks to funding from the National Grid Community Matters Fund.

The warm packs included items such as Gloves, Hats, Insulated Socks, Packet Soups, Pot Noodles, A Themometer, A Hot Water Bottle, and a Torch to help in case of a blackout.

Bromford Housing received 20 of these warm packs, which they handed out to the people who needed them the most, living within their supported living network.

The Churchdown Warm Hubs received 21 of these warm packs, which meant that people who were known to be struggling for food and warmth could get these warm packs which meant so much to them all.

And the Food Banks received 19 of these warm packs. This included 10 going to the Brockworth Food Bank, and 9 going to the Churchdown Food Bank. These were handed out to people who had regularly been collecting food from these food banks, as they were known to the volunteers as people in need.

GBG and the others that helped to hand these 60 Warm Packs out were greeted with immense gratitude from all that received these warm packs, as they understood how invaluable things such as a Hot Water Bottle were for them, in this incredibly challenging time.
