Santa’s Sleigh – Twyning

Santa Sleigh Fundraising

A massive thank you goes out to the Twyning Sleigh Committee for raising over £1000 for Goals Beyond Grass. They managed to raise £1,100 for Goals Beyond Grass through donations, and people paying to meet Santa. All of the people that met Santa were given Selection Boxes, which were donated, meaning that all of the money went to GBG, which we are incredibly grateful for.

GBG and Friends – 1st Event

GBG and Friends Event

The GBG and Friends event is for all of the Friends of GBG to participate in activities which they might not do otherwise, whilst also learning valuable information about organisations that can help them in the long and short term

On the Day

On the day of the event, we had over 120 people attending. These 120 people included 74 participants, 24 Parent/Carers, 20 people at the 6 organisation stalls, and other staff who were helping out with all of the activities, directing and more.

The organisations were set up by the entrance, with participants being encouraged to speak to as many of them as possible. Activities were being run in the sports hall, with inclusive sports such as Powerchair Football being included. There were prizes for the winners of each event, which meant more people were trying sports and activities which they wouldn’t have done before.

The event was enjoyed by all, with people coming for the activities, but gaining incredible information from the organisations that were in attendance, which will help them in the future.

There will be another event like this in the next few months, so keep an eye out, and make sure to sign up to the newsletter to be the first people to know about everything that we are doing.

Forest of Dean Hub Funding

FoD funding!

GCC Build Back Better – Councillors Fund

Our Forest Boars Powerchair Football Club had a special visit from Councillors Phillip Robinson and Mark Hawthorn last week.

They have given £1000.00 towards our Forest of Dean Inclusive football hub at Dene Magna School!

Mark and Phil had a go in the powerchair and they loved it so much they have asked us to put another bid in next year with the potential for more funding coming our way!

This is great for the longevity of the hub!

Thanks again to GCC and both Councillors Mark and Phil!

Chamwell Centre Update

Chamwell Centre | Multi-Activities Club

Come and have some fun taking part in our multi-sport activities at the Chamwell Centre!

We will be delivering a mixture of Powerchair football activities, which is a format of football played in specially adapted electric wheelchairs. This is open for all and great fun, many participants are not chair users however it creates a level playing field and reduces barriers to taking part in sport.

Frame Football is another format of football we will deliver. We provide sports “Frames” which enable participants to play football with the support of a frame.

We have a variety of inclusive “multi-sports” activities, from table sports to skittles, these fun activities are inclusive for all and great fun!
